Meadow Market turned ONE on 28 July - we have reason to celebrate! With grateful hearts we are looking back over the past year. Every parcel was packaged with love and care and delivered joyfully and, yes, prayerfully, because we love to pray a blessing over our customers. You see... we believe that living a responsible life is not just about making greener shopping choices; it's about choosing Life in Him.

THIS MONTH WE HAVE A PRESENT for all our loyal customers; keep reading until the very end to see what that is.

That very first sale

Great was our surprise when, while still in the process of launching, we received our very first order on 28 July 2026. Our website still needed polishing and our payment system hadn't been in place yet. We advertised for more partners to join, which resulted in an unexpected sale. The customer lived close enough for us to deliver on foot but was automatically charged R69 by our website for delivery via Pudo...oh dearie dear... we fixed that... packaged the item and walked 1.2 km with our first little parcel - the shop was open! The order?: it was our 50ml Oil blend for Pain and Inflammation.

Our top 3 sellers

Our best-seller is hands-down our Organic, Raw Eucalyptus Honey from Riebeek-West. We're not surprised as, having used up several buckets ourselves, we know how yummy this is... creamy, sweet and silky on the tongue. Also, it will be hard to find this quality honey at this price. We're keeping our markup low to support a trusted local farmer and good friend.

Second in line is the Platbakkies Rosemary Shampoo Bar. You'll find it in our shower too! If shampoo in bar form is still a foreign idea to you, do yourself (and our planet) a favour and buy the 36g sample size. It really is time to switch to something better.

Our 3rd best seller is Heidi's Calendula Salve for all sorts of skin issues. Heidi is very knowledgeable about the usage of herbs to benefit our health; and her products really work! My personal 3 favourites

Over the past 12 months, the listed products at Meadow Market have slowly evolved to include more and more items that my family and I use and love. We'll probably continue down this trend, so that, eventually, we can honestly say that we're using most (if not all) items ourselves. My current must-have is Heidi's Magnesium Sleep Cream for a glorious drift-off to sleep (I see it's almost time for a personal restock). I'm still very much impressed by OIC Volume and Growth Mascara in Black, sold at a very good price and not containing harmful ingredients (most others do). My third choice would be the Eco-friendly Laundry Powder, that I use almost daily. It washes like a dream without harming the environment; and a little goes a long way.
