Did you know that mineral sunscreen is the better choice? The filters in mineral sunscreen don’t pollute our oceans the way that chemical sunscreen runoff might. More importantly, though, is the difference in mechanism of action between mineral sunscreens compared to conventional (chemical) ones. Minerals such as zinc oxide and titanium dioxide remain on the skin’s surface, creating a physical barrier on the skin and preventing UV-rays from penetrating the skin – it actually reflects the UV rays. In contrast, chemical sunscreens absorb UV rays, allowing it to enter the skin where a chemical reaction takes place, converting the light rays into heat, which is then released from the skin. 

Directions: Use on face and body to protect against sun burn. Layering can enhance sun protection. Apply frequently during prolonged sun exposure. Can be applied on top of other skin-care products.
